Political analyst Dr. Jonathan Asante Otchere has labeled recent public statements by National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia regarding presidential appointments as a breach of confidentiality, asserting that sensitive internal party deliberations should remain private. The controversy arose after Mr. Asiedu Nketia revealed his personal recommendation to President John Dramani Mahama for the appointment of Haruna Iddrisu and Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak to key ministerial roles following the NDC’s victory in the 2024 general elections. He explained these recommendations were aimed at fostering party unity, acknowledging experienced members, and strengthening government cohesion.
