Global direct-selling company QNET donated football equipment and training materials to the S-Inkoom Football Academy in Accra, Ghana, following the successful Manchester City-QNET Football Clinic 2026. The handover ceremony took place at QNET’s Adjiriganor office in East Legon, aiming to bolster grassroots football development in the region.
Supporting Grassroots Football Development
The donation included essential items such as pitch hoardings, mini nets, sports bibs, tactical boards, football cones, and equipment bags. These resources are vital for the academy’s mission to train and nurture young football talents in Ghana.
Trevor Kuna, representing QNET, highlighted the company’s dedication to fostering local sports. “We are glad to announce the donation of football equipment used in the QNET Manchester City Football Clinic 2026 Ghana to S Inkoom Football Academy,” Kuna stated at the ceremony.
He further emphasized QNET’s ongoing commitment, adding, “This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting football talent development in Ghana.” The equipment provided was previously utilized during the Manchester City-QNET Football Clinic, underscoring a direct link between high-level training opportunities and grassroots support.
Academy’s Gratitude and Vision
Samuel Inkoom, a former Black Stars defender and the academy’s namesake, expressed profound gratitude for the contribution. “I was so excited. These are some of the things we need to help these talented young players,” Inkoom shared.
He elaborated on the academy’s role in guiding aspiring footballers. “They are still young and learning, and we are trying to guide them in the right direction,” he said, stressing the importance of adequate resources for player development.
The S-Inkoom Football Academy serves as a crucial platform for identifying and developing the next generation of Ghanaian football stars. This donation is expected to significantly enhance their training capabilities and provide a more professional environment for the young athletes.
Broader Impact and Future Outlook
This initiative by QNET is part of a larger, continuous effort to support youth football development across Ghana. By providing tangible resources, the company aims to create sustainable pathways for aspiring athletes.
The collaboration with Manchester City in the recent clinic signifies a commitment to bringing international football standards and expertise to Ghana. The donation ensures that the positive impact of such events extends beyond the clinic itself, providing lasting benefits to local academies.
The provision of professional training equipment can significantly influence the quality of coaching and player development. It allows academies to implement more structured training programs and focus on skill refinement.
As QNET continues its engagement with grassroots sports, the focus remains on empowering young talent and contributing to the overall growth of football in Ghana. The success of the clinic and subsequent donation sets a precedent for future collaborations and support initiatives within the sports sector.
The long-term implications of such investments are substantial, potentially leading to a stronger national football league and increased opportunities for Ghanaian players on the international stage. The development of infrastructure and resources at the academy level is a critical step in this direction.
Looking ahead, the focus will be on how the S-Inkoom Football Academy utilizes these new resources and whether QNET will expand similar support to other youth football initiatives across Ghana. The consistent nurturing of talent through donations and clinics could prove pivotal for the future of Ghanaian football.
