NPA Empowers Consumers with Fuel Purchase Verification Campaign

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is actively educating fuel consumers across Ghana on the importance of demanding receipts and verifying their purchases to prevent disputes at filling stations. This initiative, led by the NPA’s Consumer Services Directorate, aims to bolster consumer trust and ensure they receive quality fuel for their money.

Consumer Education and Safety Campaign

Mrs. Eunice Budu-Nyarko, Director of Consumer Services at the NPA, spearheaded a nationwide consumer education and petroleum safety sensitisation campaign. The campaign recently conducted outreach in the Volta and Ashanti Regions, engaging various community groups, educational institutions, and public spaces.

During these sessions, motorists were advised to confirm the type of fuel dispensed, observe nozzle color codes, ensure dispenser screens are visible, and always request receipts. These steps are crucial for facilitating investigations should any complaints arise.
