Ghana and South Korea Forge Ahead with Major Industrial and Educational Partnerships

Ghanaian Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced a significant deepening of bilateral ties with South Korea during the 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in South Korea. The partnership will see the establishment of a Hyundai automotive manufacturing plant in Ghana to serve the West African market, alongside new initiatives in energy, agriculture, education, and technology.

Strengthening Africa-South Korea Relations

Speaking at the co-chaired meeting alongside South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, Minister Ablakwa emphasized a shared commitment to fostering a mutually beneficial relationship. The focus is on transforming nations and creating tangible opportunities for the citizens of both Africa and South Korea.
