Richard Kofi Asiedu, the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was installed as the Development Chief of Agona Kwanyarko on Saturday, May 9th, vowing to prioritize and spearhead development initiatives within the community. The colorful traditional ceremony, held in Agona Kwanyarko, saw him sworn in under the stool name Nana Asiedu Keteke I.
A Call to Service and Development
The enstoolment ceremony drew a significant crowd of political dignitaries, traditional leaders, and local residents. Among the notable attendees were Julius Debrah, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ahmed Ibrahim, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, ministers of state, NDC regional executives, and various traditional rulers. Nana Asiedu Keteke I took the sacred oath of allegiance before the Agona Kwanyarko chief, Odefour Dr Ampem Darko V.
In his acceptance speech, Nana Asiedu Keteke I emphasized that his new role is a clear call to service and development. He acknowledged the pressing challenges facing Agona Kwanyarko, particularly youth unemployment, which he described as a matter close to his heart. He also highlighted significant infrastructure deficits, including the poor state of road networks and the inadequacy of healthcare facilities.
