President John Dramani Mahama has committed to a significant infrastructure upgrade in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region, promising to extend electricity to unserved communities and improve key road networks. The pledge follows direct appeals from local traditional leaders during the President’s recent tour of the region, aiming to address long-standing development deficits.
Addressing Electrification Gaps
During his visit to Sawla, President Mahama announced that contracts for extending electricity to previously unserved communities have already been awarded. He stated that contractors are expected to commence work within the next month.
