The Wa Regular Baptist Church celebrated its 70th anniversary in Wa, Upper West Region, recently. The milestone event served as a platform for church leaders to call for unified action against pressing national issues including illegal mining, rampant drug abuse, and the increasing allure of occultism, particularly among the youth.
A Journey of Faith and Community
The anniversary service brought together a diverse congregation, including clergy from across the Upper West Region and representatives from various denominations. It was a dual occasion of thanksgiving for the church’s seven-decade journey and a serious deliberation on contemporary societal challenges.
Rev. Aquila Darimani, Head Pastor of the Wa Regular Baptist Church, reflected on the church’s history in his welcome address. He paid homage to the founding members, acknowledging their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment that fueled the ministry’s growth.
