WatsUp TV is set to significantly expand its flagship tertiary activation project, WatsUp On Campus, reaching 15 universities and tertiary institutions across Ghana and other African nations in 2026. This initiative aims to foster youth engagement, celebrate talent, and provide meaningful interactions for students, brands, and artists.
Building on Success, Expanding Horizons
Following highly successful editions at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) in April 2026 and the Regional Maritime University (RMU) in May 2026, WatsUp On Campus solidifies its position as a premier youth engagement platform on the continent.
The RMU event featured prominent Ghanaian artists like Medikal, Kelvyn Boy, Lali & Lola, and Showboy, delivering memorable performances that resonated with the student body.
The tour’s next scheduled stop is the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC), formerly the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). Students at UNIMAC can anticipate a dynamic mix of music, entertainment, networking, and youth-focused activities.
A Pan-African Vision for Youth Empowerment
WatsUp TV’s ambitions extend beyond Ghana’s borders, with plans to bring the WatsUp On Campus experience to selected universities in other African countries. This expansion is a key part of their vision to cultivate a truly Pan-African youth platform that champions talent, culture, innovation, and student achievement.
Describing the initiative, WatsUp TV stated, “WatsUp On Campus is a movement designed to connect with the next generation of leaders, creators, entrepreneurs, and entertainment consumers.” The organization aims to deliver world-class experiences directly to students while facilitating valuable engagement opportunities for brands, artists, and young people.
For the 2026 tour, WatsUp TV plans to feature top-charting African artists, offering students exclusive access to performances by some of the continent’s most sought-after entertainers.
Diverse Activities for Student Development
The 2025 WatsUp On Campus tour included electrifying performances at institutions such as Accra Technical University (ATU), the University of Health & Allied Science (UHAS), Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), the University of Ghana, Legon, the University of Energy & Resources (UNER), Koforidua Technical University, and UNIMAC.
Beyond musical performances, the project incorporates brand activations, talent showcases, networking opportunities, content creation sessions, and career discussions tailored to resonate with the student demographic.
WatsUp TV: A Leading Youth Media Brand
With a significant viewership across television and digital platforms, WatsUp TV continues to solidify its standing as a leading youth-focused media brand in Africa. The company remains committed to empowering and celebrating young people across the continent.
Further announcements regarding campus schedules, artist lineups, and specific event dates are expected in the coming weeks and will be disseminated via WatsUp On Campus social media channels.
Looking Ahead: The Evolving Campus Landscape
The expansion of WatsUp On Campus signals a growing trend of media and entertainment entities investing in direct engagement with university students. As the project broadens its geographical reach and diversifies its offerings, it is poised to become an even more influential force in shaping youth culture and providing valuable platforms for emerging talent and brands across Africa. The success of such initiatives will likely encourage similar ventures, further enriching the campus experience and fostering a more connected generation of young Africans.
