Tiwa Savage Credits Don Jazzy for Seamless Afrobeats Transition
Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage recently revealed that Don Jazzy, founder of Mavin Records, was instrumental in her successful transition from R&B to Afrobeats upon her return to Nigeria in 2012. Savage, who had previously built a career abroad as a backup singer for global artists, found the shift challenging but credited Jazzy’s belief in unlimited talent for her ability to adapt.
