Awentami Paul Afoko, a contender for the National Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has initiated a significant series of high-level consultations with prominent party figures, including former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Presidents Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and John Agyekum Kufuor, and former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ogyapong. These meetings, held in the lead-up to the party’s presidential primary scheduled for January 31, 2026, also involved discussions with all five presidential aspirants, namely Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, underscoring an effort to foster internal unity.
