Npontu Technologies Bolsters Board with AI and Finance Luminary Prof. Noel Tagoe

Ghana’s leading AI and digital solutions firm, Npontu Technologies Limited, announced on Monday the appointment of Professor Noel Tagoe, PhD, FCMA, CGMA, as a new Board Member. This strategic move aims to solidify Npontu’s governance structures in line with its expanding continental presence and enhance its credibility as it champions Africa’s digital economy.

His recent lecture at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, titled “AI and the Future Workplace: Is Ghana Ready?”, highlights his deep engagement with these critical issues.

Currently, Professor Tagoe serves as the founding Dean of the Nile Business School at Nile University of Nigeria, where he is instrumental in developing an educational model tailored for African contexts. He also leads his own consultancy, Noel Tagoe & Company.

His academic career includes professorships at prestigious institutions such as Nottingham University Business School, Saïd Business School (Oxford), Manchester Business School, and University College Dublin. Professor Tagoe holds degrees from the University of Ghana, the University of Dundee, and the University of Oxford. He is a Fellow of CIMA and a former Board Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

With over four decades of experience, Professor Tagoe brings a unique blend of financial acumen, technology strategy, and leadership. In his former role as Executive Vice President of Research and Curricula at AICPA–CIMA, he spearheaded significant transformations in global competency frameworks and led the Future of Finance research program. He also advised numerous organizations across Asia, Africa, and Europe on the impact of digitalization on talent and policy.

His corporate experience includes roles at major energy companies like BP and Elf Aquitaine (now TotalEnergies). He also led the financial advisory consulting team at KPMG Ghana and has consulted for prominent financial institutions and government bodies, including Standard Chartered Bank and the British Government’s development finance arm, on matters of strategy and digitalization.
