Accra, Ghana – A prominent voice within the Mahamudu Bawumia faction of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has publicly advocated for the party to actively pursue reconciliation with former heavyweight Alan Kyerematen. This call comes as the NPP strategizes to consolidate and broaden its support base in preparation for upcoming elections, emphasizing the political expediency of reintegrating key figures who have previously departed.
Rebuilding Bridges for Electoral Gain
Speaking on the television program PM Express on Tuesday, Nana Akomea, who previously led the State Transport Corporation (STC), asserted that if he were advising Dr. Bawumia, he would strongly endorse efforts to mend ties with Mr. Kyerematen.
When questioned by host Evans Mensah about the potential willingness of Dr. Bawumia to engage Kyerematen, Akomea responded affirmatively, stating,
