Ghana’s Director-General of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Audrey Smock Amoah, highlighted the nation’s strategic use of migration, remittances, and diaspora engagement as vital tools for national development and sustainable economic growth. She presented these efforts at the International Migration Review Forum 2026 in New York on Wednesday, May 6.
Integrating Migration into National Strategy
Dr. Amoah explained that Ghana is actively incorporating migration-related issues into its national development planning framework. This integration aligns with the implementation of the United Nations Global Compact for Migration, a comprehensive agreement aimed at improving migration governance worldwide.
