The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced a comprehensive schedule of nationwide activities throughout June to commemorate the 1979 June 4 uprising. The party stated that the observance serves as a vital reminder of the principles of accountability, patriotism, and national renewal. The announcement was made by NDC General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey during a media briefing on Friday, May 15.
Honoring Enduring Ideals
Mr. Kwetey emphasized that this year’s commemoration aims to honor the enduring vision and ideals of the June 4, 1979 uprising and its subsequent impact on Ghana’s democratic trajectory.
