Mahama Empowers Chiefs in Project Oversight, Directs Formal Collaboration with Assemblies

President John Mahama has officially endorsed a new initiative empowering traditional leaders to formally participate in monitoring national development projects. The President directed the establishment of a structured framework to enhance collaboration between chiefs and district assemblies, aiming to boost transparency, accountability, and the overall quality of government-funded initiatives across the country.

Speaking at a gathering of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs at the Jubilee House on Friday, May 15, President Mahama highlighted a persistent challenge in governance: the disconnect between announced development projects and their actual completion. This gap often leads to public frustration regarding allocated funds and delivered value.
