The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully contained a devastating commercial fire in Kumasi’s Suame Magazine Zone 18 early Saturday morning, May 16, 2026. According to official reports from the GNFS, the fire’s impact was significant. It affected three wooden structures, three metal containers, four vehicles, and nine DAF vehicle engines. Despite the extensive damage, the quick response from the fire service allowed for the salvage of several valuable assets. Firefighters managed to rescue three Sprinter buses, one Smiling Benz bus, and one Opanka bus from the path of the fire.
