Aisha Bengai, Chief Executive Officer of Benguy Imports, has issued a compelling call to action for young women, urging them to prioritize investment in entrepreneurship over conspicuous consumption of luxury goods. Bengai made these remarks at the 2026 National Ladies Conference, organized by the Young Singles Ministry of the Assemblies of God at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The conference aimed to empower young women with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.
Shifting Spending Priorities
During her keynote address to thousands of attendees, Ms. Bengai challenged the prevailing trend of heavy spending on items such as wigs, dresses, and other fashion accessories. She advocated for a strategic redirection of these funds towards building businesses, emphasizing that future luxury purchases can be made in abundance once financial independence is achieved.
