Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku announced that the Black Stars’ World Cup squad will be revealed on June 1, following a recent 2-0 friendly defeat to Mexico. Okraku stated that the match, despite the loss, served its purpose in exposing emerging talents and U-23 players preparing for Olympic qualifiers.
Strategic Squad Assessment
Okraku took to Facebook to emphasize the strategic value of the friendly match. He highlighted that the game provided crucial exposure for the majority of the U-23 players who are set to participate in Olympic qualifiers.
The GFA President elaborated that the match offered a significant platform for players with limited senior team experience. This provided an invaluable opportunity for the technical team to assess players who are not regular fixtures in the national setup.
