Accra, Ghana – Dr. John Osae-Kwapong, Director of the Democracy Project at the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership to implement clear guidelines to manage burgeoning political ambitions and internal tensions within the party. This strategic intervention is deemed crucial to ensure the current administration, led by President Mahama, remains singularly focused on effective governance.
Managing Succession and Governance
Speaking on the matter, Dr. Osae-Kwapong referenced advice previously given by former President John Kufuor following the 2020 elections. Kufuor suggested that government appointees harboring presidential aspirations should consider stepping aside if their ambitions risked distracting from their core governance duties.
