Accra, Ghana – The Centre for Democratic Movement (CDM) on Monday accused the government of Ghana of presiding over significant governance failures that are worsening the plight of cocoa farmers, hospital patients, and everyday consumers. The group highlighted a pattern of institutional inefficiency, poor coordination, and delayed responses threatening public trust.
Key Concerns Raised by CDM
At a press conference, CDM Convenor Samuel Doku identified three primary areas of concern: the prolonged closure of the Weija Paediatric Hospital, escalating food insecurity despite agricultural gluts, and deepening challenges within the cocoa sector. These issues, according to CDM, point to deeper structural governance weaknesses rather than isolated policy missteps.
