Melcom Limited has officially clarified that a building which collapsed in the Avenor area of Accra on Sunday, June 7, is not owned by or affiliated with the retail company. The clarification comes after one fatality was confirmed following the 4:25 a.m. incident, which triggered a significant emergency response from multiple state agencies including the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, and Ghana Armed Forces.
Incident Details and Melcom’s Response
The collapsed structure is situated near Ashfoam and Melcom Plus, two businesses within the North Industrial Area of Accra. In a statement released via its Facebook page on Sunday, Melcom emphasized that none of its own properties sustained damage or were involved in the collapse.
