Mfantsipim School Announces 150th Anniversary Awards and Fundraising Gala

The Mfantsipim 150th Anniversary Planning Committee (MFA@150 APC) has officially launched the Mfantsipim 150th Anniversary Awards and Fundraising Dinner, a key event marking the school’s 150th year. The gala is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre of the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, aiming to celebrate excellence and raise funds for legacy projects.

This significant milestone commemorates the founding of Mfantsipim School in 1876 by the Wesleyan Mission, establishing it as the first secondary school in the Gold Coast, now Ghana. Over its 150-year history, the institution has profoundly influenced educational standards and cultivated numerous leaders across various sectors, including government, business, religion, science, education, and the arts.

Celebrating Excellence and Legacy

The upcoming awards ceremony and fundraising dinner will convene distinguished alumni, educators, corporate leaders, and development partners. The event’s primary objective is to recognize outstanding alumni and institutions whose contributions have significantly impacted Mfantsipim School, secondary education, and national development.

Award categories are designed to honor a broad spectrum of achievements. These include the Distinguished and Emerging Category, the Education Category, the Pan-Industry Category, and the MOBA Special Category. Each award celebrates individuals who embody Mfantsipim’s core values of excellence, leadership, integrity, and service.

Professor David Ofori-Adjei, Chairman of the Mfantsipim 150 Awards Subcommittee, highlighted the event’s dual purpose.
