Wilmar Africa and Ghana Armed Forces Advance to UGCFL Season 2 Finals

Wilmar Africa and the Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC) have secured their places in the University of Ghana Corporate Football League (UGCFL) Season 2 final after winning their respective semi-final matches on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Wilmar Africa defeated the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) 2-0, while GAFOSC narrowly beat the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) 1-0.

Semi-Final Showdowns

The night kicked off with a highly anticipated clash between Wilmar Africa and GCAA. Wilmar Africa displayed early dominance, controlling possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the first half. Despite their persistent pressure, the score remained deadlocked at halftime.

The second half intensified with an end-to-end battle. Wilmar Africa finally broke the resilience of GCAA in the seventh minute of the second half when Richard Brianoo found the back of the net. Their lead was extended just four minutes later by Roland Tetteh, securing a 2-0 victory.

This win marks another significant achievement for the newcomers, Wilmar Africa, extending their impressive run in the league and earning them a well-deserved spot in the championship match.

GAFOSC’s Tactical Victory

The second semi-final saw a closely contested match between the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and GAFOSC. NPA controlled the majority of the first half, creating several dangerous chances and even hitting the woodwork twice. However, they were unable to convert their dominance into goals.

GAFOSC found their breakthrough just one minute into the second half. L/CPL Gabriel A. Teye scored the decisive goal, which ultimately proved to be the only goal of the game.

Following the goal, NPA mounted a strong offensive push, desperately seeking an equalizer and repeatedly testing the GAFOSC defense. GAFOSC, however, managed the game effectively, slowing the tempo and exhibiting strong defensive discipline to protect their narrow lead.

Their organized defense and astute game management allowed them to withstand NPA’s late surge, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory and their place in the final.
