Bawumia Pledges Cooperation with New Christian Council Leadership

Accra, Ghana – Following the recent election of new leadership at the Christian Council of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has extended congratulations and pledged a commitment to continued cooperation. The move signals an ongoing emphasis on collaboration between political figures and influential faith-based organizations in Ghana.

Christian Council Elects New Leadership

The Christian Council of Ghana, a prominent ecumenical body with nearly a century of service, recently concluded its General Assembly where new leaders were chosen. Rev. Enock Nii Narh Thompson, who also serves as the Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, has been elected as the new Chairman. He will be supported by Rt Rev. Dr Abraham Opare Kwakye, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, who was elected as the Vice Chairman.

Bawumia Expresses Confidence and Commitment

In a statement released shortly after the elections, Dr. Bawumia conveyed his warm congratulations to the newly elected officials. He expressed strong confidence in their ability to lead the Council, citing their exceptional leadership qualities and integrity.
