This commitment was articulated by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, emphasizing the critical role of oceans in supporting livelihoods, ensuring food security, and driving economic prosperity.
Oceans as a Vital Resource
Emelia Arthur, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, highlighted the indispensable nature of the oceans for millions of Ghanaians. In a statement released to mark the occasion, she stressed the urgent need to protect these vital ecosystems from the detrimental impacts of overexploitation, pollution, and climate change.
