Ghana Invests in Youth for Climate Resilience with Renewable Energy Challenge

The Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability, Seidu Issifu, launched the 2026 Energy Commission Senior High Schools Renewable Energy Challenge champion of champions edition in Accra, Ghana, on [Date of Launch – assumed to be recent]. He highlighted that climate change is not a future concern but a present reality impacting various sectors of Ghana, including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and water resources.

The Minister emphasized the significant financial investment required for Ghana’s climate action, estimating needs at over $22 billion. He stressed that effective climate action necessitates moving beyond policy to practical implementation, community involvement, and technological advancements.
