Accra, Ghana – In a powerful address at the African Parliaments’ Family, Sovereignty and Values Conference, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah urged African leaders to shift the definition of national sovereignty from political pronouncements to the practical delivery of essential services and improved living conditions for their citizens. The conference, held recently in Accra, brought together parliamentary leaders from across the continent to discuss the future socio-political direction of Africa.
Sovereignty Measured by Daily Realities
Debrah asserted that true sovereignty is not demonstrated through speeches or declarations but through a nation’s tangible ability to meet the fundamental needs of its people. Citizens, he argued, evaluate their governments based on everyday realities rather than political rhetoric.
