Governance expert Dr. Frederick Oduro has urged Ghana to uphold the rule of law and move beyond partisan governance, emphasizing the need for fairness for all citizens in the face of escalating claims of political victimisation. Dr. Oduro voiced these concerns during an interview on Joy FM’s Top Story on Thursday, May 14.
Growing Politicisation of Governance
Dr. Oduro expressed significant unease over the increasing politicisation of Ghana’s governance structures and public institutions. He argued that certain state institutions must maintain neutrality and avoid becoming entangled in political disputes.
The current political discourse and public reactions in Ghana are excessively partisan. This means actions are often supported or condemned based solely on which political party is involved, creating an environment where neutrality is not only difficult but also leaves individuals feeling unprotected.
