Florence Boakye Mensah of Ghana delivered a stellar performance at the 2026 African and Para Armwrestling Championship, held at the Borteyman Sports Complex, securing both a gold and a silver medal in the Women’s 80kg+ Masters category. This remarkable achievement also earns her a coveted spot at the 2027 African Games in Cairo.

Continental Dominance Reaffirmed

Mensah, who previously claimed the gold medal at the 2023 edition in Abuja, once again demonstrated her consistent dominance on the continental armwrestling scene. Her latest podium finishes underscore her status as a formidable competitor in the sport.

The Ghanaian powerhouse will be joined by compatriot Afia Kumah and Nigeria’s Sandra Ndukwu in representing their nations at the upcoming African Games. This trio’s presence promises exciting matchups and intense rivalries.
