From Stereotypes to Success: Dr. Osei Adutwum’s Transformative Teaching Journey in America

Bosomtwe Member of Parliament and former Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has detailed his formative experiences as a high school teacher in the United States, where he encountered pervasive stereotypes about Africa and navigated challenging classroom environments for nearly a decade.

Dr. Adutwum shared these insights on The Career Trail Season 4, broadcast on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, describing his ten years teaching mathematics and later computer science as a period that was both demanding and profoundly shaping for his career.

Confronting Misconceptions in the Classroom
