Wa, Ghana – The Upper West Region officially inaugurated the World Shea Expo 2026 with a high-profile press launch and logo unveiling at the Regional Coordinating Council in Wa. The event, attended by government officials, traditional leaders, and financial stakeholders, marked a significant step towards enhancing Ghana’s shea industry, underscored by major policy announcements aimed at restricting raw nut exports and fostering local processing.
Setting the Stage for Global Engagement
The launch ceremony, which began with a traditional cultural display by the Centre for National Culture, highlighted the Upper West Region’s commitment to hosting the international event. Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing emphasized the region’s dedication to supporting the shea value chain and the women who are integral to its success.
