Ghana Sports Fund Initiates Stakeholder Consultations for Sustainable Sports Financing

Officials from the Ghana Sports Fund have commenced nationwide consultations with key stakeholders, including sports federations, clubs, and corporate entities, to foster support and consensus for a sustainable financing model for sports development. The initiative, which began with engagements in Kumasi, aims to clarify revenue mobilisation strategies, accountability frameworks, and implementation plans for the newly established Fund.

Building Consensus for a New Financial Framework

The Ghana Sports Fund, established by law, is embarking on a gradual implementation process guided by extensive dialogue. Administrator Dr. David Kofi Wuaku emphasized that building understanding and cooperation among all parties involved is paramount before aggressive enforcement of contribution mechanisms begins.

The strategy for the current year prioritizes partnership and dialogue. This approach seeks to instill confidence and ensure that all stakeholders, from sporting federations to corporate institutions, understand their roles and the benefits of the Fund.
