Ghana and Jamaica are finalizing a bilateral labour agreement that will see the first batch of Ghanaian health professionals deployed to the Caribbean nation starting in June. The agreement, which has completed its technical, legal, and diplomatic processes, awaits only the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Ghanaian Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, confirmed the readiness for deployment during a meeting with a Jamaican health delegation.

Minister Akandoh highlighted that the deployment is expected to create employment opportunities for Ghanaian health workers.
