Accra, Ghana – June 4, 2024 – Ranking Member on Parliament’s Information and Communications Committee, Matthew Nyindam, has challenged the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, to prioritize reducing data costs and improving digital access over controversial policy proposals, specifically a proposed requirement for users to verify identity before accessing adult content.

Nyindam, speaking on Joy FM’s Top Story on Thursday, argued that the primary expectations of Ghanaians who voted for the current government centered on economic relief and tangible improvements in the digital sphere.
