Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, issued a stern warning to road contractors nationwide on Saturday, May 23, stating that the government will no longer tolerate substandard construction or poor workmanship on state-funded projects. The declaration was made during a citizens’ engagement event held at Ndewura Jakpa Senior High School in the Savannah Region.

The Minister emphasized that the government is actively strengthening its monitoring mechanisms to ensure that all road projects adhere to required specifications and deliver value for public funds. This initiative comes in response to growing concerns about the quality of road construction across the country.
Mr. Agbodza highlighted a significant shift in public engagement, noting that residents in various communities, particularly within the Savannah Region, have become increasingly proactive in monitoring road projects. These citizens are now actively documenting progress and reporting any issues directly to government officials.
