Ghanaian Xenophobia Victim Finds New Beginning with Generous Business Support

Emmanuel Asamoah, a Ghanaian national who returned home after reportedly enduring xenophobic attacks in South Africa, has received a significant financial and business opportunity from Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama. The intervention, announced recently, aims to provide Asamoah with GH¢200,000 and establish him as a cement and construction hardware distributor, marking a pivotal new chapter after his displacement.

A Painful Return, A Dignified Welcome

Asamoah’s return to Ghana followed a period of hardship in South Africa, where he worked as a nail technician and hairdresser. His alleged experience with xenophobic attacks left him wounded and uncertain about his future.

Upon his arrival, Asamoah was met by high-ranking Ghanaian officials, including the High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Quashie, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. The Minister hosted him at the Ministry, a gesture intended to underscore national support and dignity for his return.

Life-Changing Intervention by Ibrahim Mahama

The story took a remarkable turn when businessman Ibrahim Mahama pledged substantial support. He committed GH¢200,000 to help Asamoah rebuild his life and offered to establish him in the cement and construction hardware distribution business.
