Accra, Ghana – The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally appealed to the international diplomatic community, development partners, and global human rights organizations, urging them to scrutinize what the party describes as growing threats to democratic governance and civil liberties in Ghana. The petition, submitted on Tuesday, May 19, highlights concerns over the alleged misuse of criminal prosecutions against political dissent and calls for the protection of fundamental freedoms.
