GN Savings Licence Restored: Nduom Heralds New Era for Indigenous Banking

Businessman Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has declared a new dawn for indigenous banking in Ghana following a pivotal Court of Appeal ruling on May 21, 2026, that overturned the revocation of GN Savings’ licence. The decision, which mandated the immediate restoration of the institution’s operating licence and assets, is seen by Dr. Nduom as a significant victory for justice, local enterprise, and financial inclusion.

A Landmark Legal Victory

Addressing the media in Accra, Dr. Nduom emphasized that Groupe Nduom’s focus is on rebuilding, not retribution. He described the ruling as long-awaited justice after nearly seven years of legal and operational uncertainty. The decision by the Court of Appeal quashed the Bank of Ghana’s 2019 revocation of GN Savings’ licence.
