Gold Fields Commits $5 Million to Boost Ghanaian Football Across Multiple National Teams

Gold Fields Ghana and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have finalized a significant two-year, $5 million sponsorship agreement. The deal, officially signed on Friday at Gold Fields’ Accra corporate office, extends crucial financial support to the senior men’s and women’s national football teams, the Black Stars and Black Queens, respectively. Notably, this partnership also encompasses the amputee national team, the Black Challenge, and the Women’s Premier League, marking a broader scope of support than previous collaborations.

Expanding Support Beyond Traditional Teams

This landmark sponsorship distinguishes itself by being the first time Gold Fields’ support for the GFA will extend to national teams beyond the flagship Black Stars. The decision to include the amputee national team and the women’s national teams was articulated by Gold Fields’ Managing Director, Elliot Twum.
