Gold Fields Ghana Commits $5 Million to Boost National Football Teams and Women’s League

Gold Fields Ghana Limited has officially partnered with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) through a significant $5 million sponsorship deal aimed at bolstering three national football teams and the Women’s Premier League. The announcement, made in Accra, solidifies the mining company’s ongoing commitment to advancing football within the country.

Strategic Partnership for National Development

This new sponsorship package will channel crucial financial support towards the Black Stars (men’s senior team), the Black Queens (women’s senior team), and the Black Challenge (men’s physically challenged team). The funding is earmarked to aid these teams in their preparations for upcoming major international competitions, enhancing their competitive edge on the global stage.

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the GFA, hailed the agreement as a landmark moment for Ghanaian football, emphasizing its transformative potential. He expressed profound gratitude, noting that the partnership represents a continuation of a long-standing and fruitful relationship between the GFA and Gold Fields.
