Accra, Ghana – Political commentator Nana Akomea has asserted that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) should prioritize policy implementation rather than being preoccupied with the opposition’s critique of their early manifesto plans. Speaking on Tuesday, Akomea argued that the electorate ultimately judges a government by its performance in office, not by its reactions to opposition strategies.
Focus on Performance, Not Opposition Tactics
Akomea dismissed the notion that unveiling policies and campaign direction prematurely offers an advantage to political opponents. He countered concerns that the opposition could study and preempt the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) plans ahead of the 2028 general elections.
For a government already in power, the most effective response to opposition challenges lies in the successful execution of policies that benefit citizens. This, according to Akomea, is the primary responsibility and the true counter-strategy.
