The Dedesua Green City Affordable Housing Project in Kumasi officially broke ground on May 9, 2026, with the Asantehene’s representative, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, urging the government and the State Housing Company Limited (SHC) to deliver tangible results. The ceremony, attended by Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources John Dramani Mahama, marked a significant step towards addressing Ghana’s housing deficit, with expectations for successful execution and accountability high among the public.
Call for Accountability and Delivery
Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, emphasized the public’s desire for completed projects rather than mere announcements. He highlighted the long-standing commitment of over 200 acres of land by the Asantehene for affordable housing, a vision that had been stalled for over 16 years by previous administrations.
