Joy FM Celebrates Mothers with Day of Fun and Future Development Promises

Joy FM hosted a “Mummy’s Day Out” event at Crown Forest on Saturday, May 9, where mothers were treated to gifts, games, and a special cake-cutting ceremony, concluding the day with joy and lasting memories. The event was part of the station’s Mother’s Day celebrations, offering mothers a chance to relax, connect, and enjoy a day filled with fun and appreciation.

A Day of Adventure and Appreciation

Following an adventurous outing and lunch at Crown Forest, attendees participated in an interactive quiz. The quiz focused on their safari experience and the information shared by tour guides about the local wildlife and environment.

Mothers who answered questions correctly received prizes. A subsequent fun session involved mothers picking folded papers to reveal additional prizes, including souvenirs, hotel stays, and day-use packages at Crown Forest Hotel.

Organizers ensured all participants received gifts, regardless of their performance in the games. Fathers accompanying their wives and mothers, as well as expectant parents, were also presented with presents, extending the appreciation to the entire family.

A special tribute was paid to 80-year-old grandmothers present, honouring their love, strength, and lifelong dedication to their families.

Political Address Highlights Constituency Development

The event also featured a surprise appearance by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, who extended early Mother’s Day wishes to the attendees. During his address, the MP outlined significant development projects planned for the constituency.

“This is the only constituency that has a plan to build a whole new city,” the MP stated, emphasizing the ambitious vision for the region. He highlighted the area’s strategic location, noting it as the second-largest trade border on the continent.

The MP expressed confidence that this strategic positioning could transform the area into a major industrial hub. “We believe that if we can locate it strategically here, then we can industrialise this place, and we can turn this place into the industrial capital of the entire West Africa,” he explained.

Further plans include a major industrial fair post-Gomoa Easter Carnival, anticipated to attract over 2,000 international companies. “We are bringing over 2,000 companies from all over the world to an industrial fair in the area where we are developing the free zones,” he announced.

A substantial $500 million project is also slated for the area, with several developments already underway. The MP mentioned a fully automated project that is currently 80% complete, signaling significant ongoing construction and progress.

He concluded by thanking the patrons for participating in the event and for visiting the constituency, reinforcing the positive outlook for the region’s future.

Looking Ahead

The “Mummy’s Day Out” successfully blended community celebration with a forward-looking economic vision. As development projects progress and international interest grows, the constituency appears poised for significant transformation. The coming months will likely see further announcements regarding the industrial fair and the $500 million project, offering a glimpse into the area’s potential as an industrial capital in West Africa.
