Mahama Joins Global Leaders in Nairobi for Africa Forward Summit to Champion Sustainable Development

Nairobi, Kenya – President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Nairobi today to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a crucial France-Africa partnership meeting convened by French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit aims to foster dialogue on sustainable development and economic transformation across the African continent, bringing together Heads of State, global business leaders, and international partners.

Summit Focus: Green Industrialization and Financial Reforms

President Mahama, also serving as the African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, is set to engage in a high-level discussion on Green Industrialisation and Energy Transition. This session will explore strategies for accelerating Africa’s industrial growth while simultaneously addressing the urgent challenges posed by the global climate crisis.

Later, he will participate in a working lunch focused on reforms to the International Financial Architecture. The discussions will centre on enhancing African nations’ access to sustainable financing and advocating for a more equitable global financial system that better supports the continent’s developmental needs.
