MP Questions Viability of Operation Recover All Loot Prosecutions

The effectiveness of the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative in securing major courtroom victories is being questioned by Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament for Manyhia South. Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday, May 13, the MP expressed doubts about the legal strength of several ORAL-related investigations, suggesting that many prosecutions may not result in convictions when challenged in court.

Legal Foundations Under Scrutiny

Mr. Baffour Awuah specifically criticized the approach taken by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine. He argued that the legal underpinnings of the investigations are “very weak.” This assessment suggests that the evidence gathered or the legal strategies employed may not withstand judicial scrutiny.
