NCCE Director Marks 52nd Birthday with Generous Donation to Royal Seed Orphanage

Awutu Senya East Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Madam Mary Nyamekye Ankrah, celebrated her 52nd birthday on Saturday by donating relief items valued at five thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC5,000.00) to the Royal Seed Orphanage located at Awutu Okromansa Krom, off the Kasoa Ofaakor, Bawjiase Road. The donation aimed to support the orphanage’s efforts in caring for underprivileged children.

Community Support and Birthday Celebration

Madam Ankrah, accompanied by Reverend Father Emmanuel Ofori Inkoom, Parish Priest of the Saint Gregory Catholic Church at Gomoa Buduburam where she is the immediate past President, presented a variety of essential items to the orphanage. The donation included staple foods like rice and sugar, hygiene products such as toilet rolls, diapers, and liquid soap, as well as clothing, biscuits, and beverages.

The NCCE Director expressed her gratitude for reaching another milestone in her life and stated that the spirit of giving was her inspiration to bring joy to the children. She urged the orphanage’s management to ensure the items are used effectively for the children’s well-being and encouraged the children to lead virtuous lives and prioritize their education to become successful individuals.

Royal Seed Orphanage Operations and Needs

Nana Naomi Esi Amoah, Founder and Director of Royal Seed Orphanage, received the donation and conveyed her heartfelt appreciation. She assured Madam Ankrah that the items would be utilized judiciously to enhance the welfare of the children under their care.

Nana Amoah highlighted the orphanage’s mission to provide parental care and essential training for needy children, equipping them with the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. She also appealed for support from individuals and organizations, specifically mentioning the urgent need to cover electricity bills, which are currently hindering the orphanage’s operations.

Broader Community Involvement

The donation event was attended by Madam Ankrah’s family and members of her church, who engaged with the children, fostering a sense of community and offering encouragement. They advised the children to avoid negative behaviors and focus on positive development.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Madam Ankrah extended her thanks to God for her journey and reiterated her motivation for the donation. She also reached out to her church, the management of Brand High Senior High School at Kasoa Opeikuma, her family, friends, and the NCCE for their potential assistance to the orphanage.

Reverend Father Inkoom emphasized the Church’s commitment to supporting orphans, viewing the donation as an integral part of their pastoral duties. He concluded the event with prayers for the children and caregivers, seeking divine protection and guidance.

Future Outlook and Call to Action

The donation underscores the importance of corporate social responsibility and individual philanthropy in supporting vulnerable communities. Madam Ankrah’s initiative highlights how personal milestones can be leveraged to make a significant positive impact on the lives of children in need.

The appeal from Royal Seed Orphanage for support with operational costs, particularly electricity bills, serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by many orphanages. As communities continue to rally around such institutions, the focus remains on sustainable support systems that ensure the long-term welfare and development of the children they serve. The NCCE’s involvement also points to the broader civic responsibility in caring for the nation’s future generation.
