South Dayi MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has defended National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s ongoing nationwide tour, asserting it is a post-election gratitude exercise initiated by party supporters, not an early bid for the party’s flagbearer position. The tour, which began in April 2025 following President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial appointments and regional visits, aims to thank grassroots members and stakeholders for their efforts in the 2024 election victory after eight years in opposition.
Roots of the Tour
Dafeamekpor explained on JoyNews’ PM Express that the impetus for the tour came from complaints at a National Executive Committee meeting. Party faithful felt the need for the party hierarchy to directly engage and express gratitude to those who worked tirelessly for the election win.
