Old Students Urge BECE Candidates to Shun Cheating Amidst Donation Drive

Candidates preparing for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Atwima Kwanwoma District have been strongly advised to abstain from examination malpractice and face the tests with self-assurance. This call to integrity was made by Mensah Francis, also known as Adwenpa-Hene and President of the Aduwamase Old Students Association (ASA), during a recent donation event at their former school, Aduwamase D/A Basic School.

Context of the Donation and Examination

The Aduwamase Old Students Association organized a donation exercise to equip the final-year pupils with essential materials for the BECE. The examination, overseen by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is a critical juncture for students transitioning from basic to secondary education in Ghana.

This year’s BECE is scheduled to take place from May 4 to May 11, 2026. The donation by the ASA is an annual initiative aimed at bolstering the confidence and preparedness of students from their alma mater.

Support for Examination Preparedness

During the event, the association presented vital supplies including mathematical sets, pens, and rulers to the BECE candidates. This gesture aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents and ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to a lack of basic examination tools.

Mensah Francis addressed the pupils, emphasizing discipline and trust in their academic efforts. He reassured them that the BECE is comparable to their regular school assessments and encouraged them to remain focused.
