The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has dramatically reduced its pension claims processing time from months to an average of just seven days, a significant improvement aimed at enhancing service delivery for pensioners. This accelerated turnaround was announced by SSNIT Director-General Kwasi Afreh Biney during an interview on Joy News’ PM Express Business Edition on Thursday, highlighting a new era of efficiency for retirement benefit applicants.
Digital Transformation Drives Efficiency
Mr. Biney explained that eligible pensioners who submit all necessary documentation can now expect to be placed on the pension payroll within a week. This streamlined process, while still involving thorough checks and validations, represents a substantial leap from previous processing durations.
