Charterhouse Productions, the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), have confirmed that the 27th edition of the prestigious music awards ceremony will be held at the Grand Arena on Saturday, May 9, 2026. This venue change, from the initially planned Palms Convention Centre, comes after weeks of public discussion and appeals for government intervention to secure the preferred location, which has historically hosted the event.
Venue Change Reflects Growing Ambition
The decision to return to the Grand Arena, a venue that has been the traditional home for the TGMAs since 2019, is attributed to the increasing scale and production ambitions of the awards scheme. Organizers stated that the Grand Arena’s expansive capacity, advanced technical infrastructure, and greater production flexibility are essential for delivering the high-caliber experience expected by audiences.
